Celebrate Tahoe City Day August 8th

An annual community celebration honoring Tahoe City's 152nd year will take place Friday, August 8th from 5 to 8 PM at the Tahoe City Golf Course. The party will feature live music by The Roemers, games, drink specials, BBQ hamburger dinners and more.

According to public records, the place now recognized as Tahoe City, was surveyed and recorded by W. Taft on August 8, 1863.  During the 2013 TC150 Anniversary Celebration, August 8 was proclaimed as Tahoe City Day, to be celebrated annually forevermore.

This year’s celebration of Tahoe City Day will take place at the Tahoe City Golf Course on August 8th, from 5PM to 8PM.  The Roemers, a local band from Tahoma, will play their eclectic musical range of blues, funk, rock, covers, and original songs outside on the golf course patio with room for a great party and a lot of dancing.

“Tahoe City is a great town and we want to help the community celebrate all that it offers us,” stated Karen Willcuts, one of the event's planners. “It is our plan to continue to hold this event and celebrate Tahoe City Day every year on August 8th," commented Ruth Schnabel, another of the organizers. "People worked hard to build this town 150 years ago, we want to show some appreciation.”

The Tahoe City Golf Course will be serving a barbecue dinner. A full bar will also be available.

“We're looking forward to hosting a great party,” commented JJ Drake, General Manager of the Tahoe City Golf Course. "We hope to see another great community turnout."

The Tahoe City Day Party and BBQ is being produced by Karen Willcuts and Ruth Schnabel of Tahoe Arts Festival, in partnership with the Tahoe City Golf Course and the Tahoe City Downtown Association.  The party is graciously sponsored by The Store…Copies and More, Tahoe TV/Tahoetopia.com, and other local businesses.  Additional sponsorships and donations are welcome.
