Snow?

What happen to the snow? Seems like this has been a warm winter.

snow -

to the two respondents - maybe the original post was talking about the view on the truckee cam.  Sure we've had lots of precip this winter (thankfully!) but a lot of it below 6500-7k' has fallen as rain...

Snow?

Who are you...really?  Algore? Still trying huh? The water content of the snow pack is greater than the last 3 years and not only that if 18 degrees is not cold enough for you, stick around. They don't call this "the coldest damned place" on earth for nuthin'. Snow...yeah ya might say we got snow, with more coming. Looking at the dock at Sunnyside, you might notice the boards exposed show 5 where in January there were 6. those are 2x12's ...the lake level has risen 12"? from a 10 year low. Notice I said 10 year...that means it has been low before and will be low again...fluxuation. That is a word the GWF's (Global Warming Freaks) fail to acknowledge...yeah; Man caused. If only we were so good. If Only!

global warming

Excuse me, but if you fail to realize that islands in the Pacific are getting swamped, and that man-made pollution has put a heck of a lot more carbon dioxide in the air, you need to get educated.  Besides, even if there wasn't global warming, air pollution causes lung cancer, asthma, and foul-smelling  and looking air.  We need to advance with solar, wind, geo-thermal, and bio fuels, and stop burning so much damn fossil fuel!  And it is about time we had some decent snow in the Sierras, because most of the last decade we haven't had all that much.  Vancouver didn't have much snow, and heck it usually snows in Vancouver city a few times a winter, and it didn't this winter.

Lot's of snow

I don't know where you are posting from, but there's been plenty of snow in the Sierras this winter.

Streaming video: YES

I"d love to see a live feed of downtown.  I also view the CalTrans cameras often, but watching Truckee downtown would be more fun than watching traffic flow on the freeway.

Zephyr is late today!

Here I sit broken hearted; The Zephyr has not yet departed.

The train

I caught the train today!!!

Webcam

Really enjoy the webcam; keep up the good work; haven't been able to catch any trains yet, though; there used to be a webcam on the other side of the main street pointed toward the front of the train station; any chance of bringing it back?

Truckee Downtown #2

You can find the other camera at http://www.truckeeriverassociates.com/home/index.php?site_config_id=107&page_selection=2102&s_page= Don't know why it's not working on this site.

Live Camera's

I'd love to see a live camera. I watch Tahoe City on CalTran camera's.  I miss the area and the camera's are a great way to feel like I'm still there.

Truckee Cam Upgrades

Hi Truckee Cam fans! Eric here, from Tahoetopia. We're very happy to have you watching the cam, and appreciate your interest in Truckee, Tahoe and Tahoetopia.com. I'm afraid storms and powder blips and outages sometimes interrupt the camera's functionality - usually due to some outage of the internet connection. We do strive to address these as quickly as possible. If you do see the camera down, or have comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly via email at eric@tahoetv.com. We would welcome your comments any time. We are considering other camera locations around Lake Tahoe and Truckee, so please don't hesitate to throw us your ideas. Also, let us know if you'd have interest in having this camera do live streaming as an option in addition to the updating still image. Many thanks!   Eric T. BrandtPresidentTahoe TV/Tahoetopia.com

Don't get too mad - we are lucky to have a camera there.  We are looking at it all the way from Australia so we are closer to our daughter who lives there.

Are they ever going to fix this camera?

What's wrong with it? Works fine and I'm about 500 miles away.

Camera

Well like right now it hasn't updatted since earlier today, and at times the camera itself displays a very messed up image. Just my 2 cents, enjoy it when it works to say the least! ;-)

Ditto on previous comment on update, messed image. 8:50 pm, 1/20/10 ...but I like it when it works.
