Squaw Valley's 27th Annual Cushing Crossing is the best event of the spring season. It's the original pond skimming event that started a spring resort ritual. Every year hundreds, if not thousands gather along with a celebrity judging panel and amazing and wacky emcee's for this spectacle. Filled with big spills, hilarious crafts and constumes and genuine thrills, this is THE spring event that you don't want to miss.
Crossing starts at 1pm, awards at 3pm at the KT Base Bar.

- Registration: 9am at KT Base Bar (limited to 50 participants, $20/person, cash only).
- Participants must be 18+. Helmets and personal flotation device is mandatory.
- Awards: 3pm at KT Base Bar

As the summer season is fast approaching we celebrate its beginning each year on the West Shore during Memorial Day Weekend with the Opening Day at the Lake annual event. Through deck opening parties at several restaurants, live music, scavenger hunts, BBQs, historic tours, and so much more, the West Shore is the place to be during your long weekend!!
Lake Tahoe is ready and open for summer! Time to open up summer cabins, put the boats in the water and get a jump on summer activities. Pick up (or download – link coming soon) an ‘Opening Day Passport’ at a participating business/location and receive stamps at each participating business you visit. When your Passport is filled, turn it in for a prize.
Opening Day at the Lake’s jam-packed weekend includes a wide variety of events and activities:
- Deck/patio opening celebrations at Sunnyside Resort, Jake’s On The Lake, West Shore Café, Chambers Landing Bar & Restaurant and Bridgetender
- West Shore Clean Up Day
- Opening of Meeks Bay Resort & Marina
- The opening of Tahoe City’s Tahoe Gal (Mississippi paddlewheeler)
- Tahoe Sailing Charters’ opening weekend
- Tahoe Tree Company annual Truck-Load Sale of perennials and shrubs.
- Season openings and tours of the historical Vikingsholm Castle and Ehrman Mansion
- Guided museum tours at the Tahoe Maritime Museum

The 2017 Tahoe Cup Paddle Racing Series officially kicks off on Memorial Day weekend with the Series Opener, the ‘Donner Lake Race’ on Saturday, May 27th.
Made in Tahoe Festival returns to The Village at Squaw Valley to celebrate all things local. The festival features live music and performances on three stages, as well as over 100 local vendors offering food, drink, and artisan goods that are made or inspired in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee areas. Discover, explore and experience our special community rich with talented creators! This event is rain or shine.

Street Vibrations Spring Rally condenses the excitement of Street Vibrations into one weekend in downtown Reno. It's the ninth annual event and will include live entertainment, slow bike races, ride-in shows, poker runs, scavenger hunts, more than 80 vendors, VIP parties for participants and more.
Street Vibrations Spring is free to the public. VIP Motorcycle packages are available for $40 per rider, which includes official T-shirt, ride pin and hog tag, participation in poker runs and scavenger hunts, VIP parties, ride-in show, slow bike races and secured VIP parking.
Virginia City will host a poker walk, live entertainment, VIP bike parking and more. Chester's Reno Harley-Davidson will host open houses and special promotions and live entertainment.

This unique and wonderfully entertaining, family friendly festival has it all...face painting, carnival rides and games, a beer garden and food galore, medieval and Shakespearean plays, artisan crafts and demonstrations, street performers, jousting tournaments and knight battles, medievil museums. Enter a world of magic, mayhem and merriment at the Valhalla Renaissance Faire, a whimsical recreation of Elizabethan England in South Lake Tahoe, California. Taking place over a month in early summer, the event features olde world entertainment in a beautiful green environment. Enjoy performances by roving jesters, archery tournaments, epic jousts and lively plays. Take a stroll through the maze, enjoy spirited music or rub elbows with elegant lords and ladies. Pirates and barbarian hordes make appearances at this interactive event, and a variety of merchants peddle everything from jewelry and crafts to weapons and leather goods.
Nearly 3,000 cyclists from throughout the United States come to Tahoe to ride around the Lake.
Bike the West and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invite you to participate in the 26th annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring rides you will ever experience. Spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and fully supported by experienced ride organizers makes this ride is a ‘must do’ for any avid recreational bicyclist. Please check their equipment policy for restrictions or approval.
The Thunderbird is Lake Tahoe's most scenic paddle. The start is at the beautiful Sand Harbor beach, a Nevada State Park. The sandy beach gives way to Tahoe's most beautiful paddling area featuring clear water, large franite boulders, epic Sierra veiws, and the historic Thunderbird Lodge.
Event begins at 6:00AM and the paddlers paddle until 11:00AM.
