Solstice Festival Kicks Off Summertime in Tahoe City

Though the actual summer Solstice isn't until Tuesday, June 21st, Tahoe City's Solstice Festival, June 15 - 18,  ushers in the summer season in North Lake Tahoe with a host of events and activities including fine art, food, wine, classic cars, concerts and outdoor competitions and adventures.

This year, extend the Solstice festival includes Father’s Day. This three-day event brings artisan food and wine, acclaimed musicians and artists, adventure sports and celebrated local shops, restaurants and gallery exhibits, and local anniversarys to the shores of North Lake Tahoe.

Festival highlights include the Tahoe City Farmers Market on Thursday, June 15th, Classic Car Stroll on Friday the 16th, the Tahoe City Wine Walk on Saturday the 17th, and the summer’s first free Concert at Commons Beach performance on Sunday, featuring Groove Foundry and Matty Reardon & Friends. The weekend also includes the Bridgetender 40th anniversary party, and the start of the Alpenglow Mountain Festival.

June 15: Tahoe City Farmer’s Market

June 15: Tahoe City Classic Car Stroll
North Lake Tahoe Boulevard becomes a nostalgic journey through Tahoe’s love affair with classic automobiles and collector cars. Vote for best in show during the early evening Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show. 6-8 p.m.

June 16: Trunk Show Sip 'n Shop
The Trunk Show, in the Cobblestone Center welcomes shoppers with a special Sin 'n Shop event.

June 16-25: Adventure Sports Week
Challenge yourself during the day in one of Adventure Sports Week’s many competitive events including trail running, mountain biking, triathlon, stand up paddle boarding and swimming. Then relax in the evening while exploring downtown Tahoe City.

June 17: Solstice Paddle - 9am Commons Beach

June 17-25: Alpenglow Mountain Festival
