[Olympic Valley, Calif.] August, 2016 – The Village at Palisades Tahoe pays tribute to our four-legged friends with the 7th Annual Peaks and Paws Festival, returning Saturday, August 27. Peaks and Paws is a special day to celebrate dogs, with pet-friendly guided hikes up the mountain, an array of specialty products pet vendors, live bluegrass music all day, 3rd Annual Fetch Fest at Cushing Pond, an Ultimate Flying Dog Show and demonstrations, and “Yappy Hour” drink specials. Peaks and Paws is a fundraiser for the local community and all proceeds from the event benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, a non-profit dedicated to saving and improving the lives of animals. Last year’s festival raised over $13,000 in proceeds for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. The festival will take place on Saturday, August 27 from 11 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“We can’t wait for the return of Peaks and Paws in the Village,” said Caroline Ross, executive director for the Squaw Village Neighbourhood Company. “This family-friendly and pet-focused festival is the perfect homage to benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. It’s a wonderful gathering for the local community and for furry friends to play with each other in a safe, fun and interactive setting.”

Peaks and Paws welcomes the return of the third annual Fetch Fest at Cushing Pond, an exciting contest for man’s best friend. Fetch Fest is a timed ball retrieval contest to see which dog can retrieve the most tennis balls from Cushing Pond before time runs out. Fetch Fest will begin at 2 p.m. and has a $5 entry fee.
