Palisades Tahoe held a grand reopening ribbon-cutting ceremony for the recently upgraded Siberia Express six-passenger chairlift on Dec. 18th, welcoming skiers and snowboarders as they loaded the new, high tech, state-of-the-art chairlift.

Palisades Tahoe hosted a grand reopening celebration for the popular Siberia Express chairlift, which, over the past summer, received a $7 million upgrade from a high-speed quad to a high-speed six-passenger lift to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness. The Siberia Express lift provides access to intermediate ski areas in Siberia Bowl, Gold Coast, and Mainline, as well as the Palisades, some of Palisades Tahoe's most iconic black diamond terrain. The new lift was constructed in the same location as its predecessor.

The celebration took place at the lower terminal of the Siberia Express lift and featured a ribbon-cutting and DJ tent. Andy Wirth, president and CEO of Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows, cut the ribbon, officially reopening the Siberia Express lift for the 2015-16 ski season.
