"Caviar and Chadors" is the true story of Phyllis Renee, an American woman living in Iran in the 1970's, in the politically volatile period just prior to the Iranian Revolution of 1979.  She found herself in the unique position of being able to eat caviar and view the opulent lifestyle of wealthy Iran, while discovering little by little some of what was hidden beneath the chadors of Iranian culture.  She wrote this book to provide a fascinating and informative window into Iran that most Americans would never otherwise see.
