TAHOE CITY, Calif. – November 18, 2019 – Ice skating will return at the Tahoe City Winter Sport Park with a soft opening from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24. A grand opening celebration will be held from 10am-8pm on Friday, November 29, officially kicking off the winter season in Tahoe City.

Lake Tahoe's own rodent weather prognosticator, Punxatahoe Pete, this morning contradicted the widely-followed call of celebrity groundhog Punxutawny Phil, who is reported to have seen his shadow this morning on Gobbler's Knob in Punxutawny, Pa., indicating another six weeks of winter.
