The Tahoe Donner Association is hosting its First Annual Fall Festival, October 23 in and around the Northwoods Clubhouse at 11509 Northwoods Boulevard in Truckee. A wide variety of activities is planned for everyone to enjoy:

•    Doggy Dip – Bring your dog(s) for a swim in Northwoods Pool and visit with pet supply vendors – please bring a leash! 10am-1pm.
•    Pumpkin Patch – Buy a pumpkin for Halloween. 11am-6pm
•    Arts & Crafts Fair - Starts at 11am.
•     Recipe contest - Get cookin' for our first annual Fall Festival Recipe Contest. Awards will be given for Best Savory, Best Sweet and Best Fall recipe. Recipes must feature a main ingredient that is in season between September and November. Contestant recipes must be fully prepared, plated and ready for presentation to the judges at noon on Saturday, October 23.
•    Beer Tasting – a beer tasting will be highlighted by samples from Northern California brewers. 3pm-6pm

From 11am-6pm (except where noted), a Kids Carnival will offer tons of fun!

•    Bounce House
•    Climbing Wall
•    Extreme Jumper
•    Caramel Apple Decorating
•    Face Painting
•    Pumpkin Carving
•    Popcorn /Cotton Candy
•    Apple Bobbing
•    Putt Putt Golf Course
•    Hay Bale Maze
•    Pony Rides (12pm – 2:30pm)

What would a festival be without live entertainment? Check out performances from:

•    The Rebekah Chase Band, noon-2pm
•    The Truckee Middle School Jazz Band, 2:15pm
•    Truckee Youth Football and Cheer, 2:45pm
•    Inner Rhythms Dance Studio, 3:15 pm
•    Buddy Emmer Band, 4-6pm

Down the road at the Trout Creek Recreation Center, a Fun Run with 1M and 5k options will be held from 8-11:30am (race starts at 9am). Cost to participate is $10 for kids and $15 for adults if registered before the event, or $15 (kids) and $20 (adults) if registered the day of the event. Dogs on leash are free. T-shirts will be given to participants and all registered kids will receive a medal. Pre-register at Trout Creek Recreation Center, (530) 587-9437.
