Max Raabe and Palast Orchester are very unique; all their songs are sung in German, specifically, ballads from the thirties and forties, from legendary composers like Hans May, Walter Reisch and Fritz Rotter, all of Jewish origin, who had to emigrate to the USA, to escape the growing Nazi power. The songs are combinations of humor and irony and the tragedy of human existence. Raabe and his twelve-piece orchestra, play these songs with precision and love. His soft voice turns these eighty-year-old songs into a night of admiration and respect for the composers who wrote them and audiences are never disappointed. Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester will be live at The Grand Theatre, Sunday April 10 at 8pm.
