Holiday Events Update with Jonny Moseley // Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows 14/15

Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows are geared up to welcome guests for a festive holiday season with a variety of activities and events for young and old, skiers and non-skiers. Events include skiing or riding with Santa, a New Year’s Eve fireworks show and torchlight parade, or celebrate under the stars with a moonlit snowshoe dinner tour. Skiers and snowboarders can also take the opportunity to ski with Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley or snowboard with big mountain snowboarder Jeremy Jones.

Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows have received nearly three feet of new snow in the last week more snow is forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

“Between our great on-mountain conditions, festive activities and lively village, Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows is a picturesque location for families to spend the holidays,” said Sean Kristl, Events Manager for Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows.

Dec. 20-24: Santa at Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows
Skiers and riders will find Santa at both Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows this holiday season! From Dec. 20-24, take a photo with Santa in The Village at Palisades Tahoe from 12-4 p.m. Spot Santa on the slopes of Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows Dec. 22-24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dec. 20-24 & 26: Carolers in the Village
Enjoy Christmas carolers in the Village at Palisades Tahoe from 4-7 p.m.

Dec. 23: Jeremerry Christmas
Ski or ride with big mountain snowboarding legend Jeremy Jones for two hours before heading down to win his gear at The Ledge Boardshop, located in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. Meet at the Gold Coast Demo Center at 2 p.m. Raffle will take place at The Ledge at 4:30 p.m.

Dec. 27-31: Holiday Dawn Patrol
Experience the mountain before anyone else by participating in Squaw’s legendary Dawn Patrol. Take the Tram to High Camp at 7:40 a.m. and ski or ride Mountain Meadow, Shirley Lake, and the Granite Chief lifts. Tickets for Dawn Patrol are $29 for adults. Space is limited; reservations are recommended.

Dec. 26-31: Ski & Ride with Jonny Moseley
Ski or ride with Palisades Tahoe’s Chief Mountain Host and Olympic Gold Medalist, Jonny Moseley. Jonny will take participants on a free, two hour mountain tour Dec. 26-31. At Alpine Meadows, ski tours led by Jonny are from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 26, 27, 29 and 30. Participants can meet at the base of Summit Express. Palisades Tahoe tours will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 26-31. Participants can meet at the Gold Coast Demo Center.  Ski & Ride with Jonny Moseley is free; however, a lift ticket is required to participate.

Dec. 26-29: Moonlit Snowshoe Tour and Dinner
After the mountain closes and the winter moon rises, experience a snowshoe tour to the mid-mountain Chalet at Alpine Meadows to enjoy an intimate seated dinner. Dishes include Alps-inspired recipes like potato cheese soup, chicken cordon bleu and apple strudel. This unique experience is only available for the first 50 guests to register. Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show
Bring the whole family to Palisades Tahoe to ring in the new year! Enjoy incredible skiing and riding at both mountains, followed by festivities in the Village. Squaw’s famous Torchlight Parade will take place on New Year’s Eve at 6:30 p.m. followed by a colorful fireworks show at 7 p.m.

Dec. 31: Family New Year’s Eve Dinner
At High Camp, families can enjoy a delicious buffet dinner while taking in incredible moonlit, panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada. Take the aerial tram up 2,000 vertical feet to the buffet dinner at High Camp, followed by an East Coast New Year’s Toast at 9 p.m. To make a reservation, please email Katy Stevens at kstevens@squaw.com.

Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Bash
Those 21 and older can welcome 2015 in style at Olympic House. Palisades Tahoe's New Year's Eve Bash is from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and features live music in the Plaza Bar and a DJ in Bar One. Tickets are $10 at the door.
