“Addicted To Life” - Friday, Dec. 26th - Olympic Village Lodge
Touted as "a high adventure feature film that will blow your mind", producer Thierry Donard and his crew travel to the four corners of the globe, from Chamonix Mont-Blanc to French Polynesia, the Swiss Alps, the Pyrenees and the Spanish desert of Almeria, to capture extraordinary feats from passionate athletes within wild, threatening natural environments. This is a globetrotting adventure with men and women who continually push their limits in extreme situations.
Two showings will be presented at the Olympic Village Lodge in Palisades Tahoe on Friday, December 26 at 5:30pm and 8:00pm. This will be the debut film premiere in the United States and will be presented in person by the French film’s producer Thierry Donard with Q&A to follow both showings.
“Almost Ablaze” & "Higher" - Saturday, Dec. 27th - Olympic Village Lodge
Palisades Tahoe Institute and Teton Gravity Research present in a double feature of Jeremy Jones’ films “Almost Ablaze” and “Higher” . Awarded "Film Of The Year" at the 2014 International Freeski Film Festival, TGR's Almost Ablaze is a global odyssey combining state-of-the-art cinematography and some of the most progressive riding on the planet. The film allows viewers a new level of sensory experience as each athlete is wired for sound, immersing the audience completely in the moment. Filmed on location in the Teton Range hitting 5,000-foot dream lines, at the war-torn Winter Olympic venues in Sarajevo, the untapped terrain of Sella Nevea, Italy, and in Revelstoke, British Columbia.
In “Higher”, Snowboarder Jeremy Jones hits the slopes in Jackson Hole before heading to the Eastern Alaska Range and the Himalayas of Nepal. Witness the journey of one of the greatest big mountain snowboarders of our time.
Jeremy Jones revolutionized backcountry snowboarding with ‘Deeper’, his 2010 ode to splitboarding and human-powered adventure. His 2012 sequel ‘Further’ took him to the planet’s most remote mountain ranges and earned him an award as a 2013 National Geographic ‘Adventurer of the Year’.
Opening the presentation will be “Higher” film soundtrack artist Matt Reardon on sound design and special appearances by TGR athletes for Q&A following the film.
One showing of “Almost Ablaze” will be presented at 5:30pm and one showing of “Higher” will be presented at 8:00pm on Saturday, December 27 at the Olympic Village Inn, Palisades Tahoe.
