Tahoe Cup Race Opens Paddle Season at Tahoe
The 2014 summer paddleboard season gets off to a fast start Memorial Day weekend with the opening event in the Tahoe Cup series, the 7th Annual O’Neill Donner Lake Paddleboard Race, being held at Donner Lake on Saturday, May 24th.
The first of a three-event Tahoe Cup series with a combined $20,000 prize purse, the Donner Lake Race welcomes hundreds of competitors of all ability levels, from recreational paddlers to elite racers.
The race starts at 9am from the West End Beach (Pavilion area) in a 5-mile sprint race around the shoreline of Donner Lake.
The start/finish area is open to spectators and will include a festive atmosphere and free SUP demos from Surftech and the Sports Exchange of Truckee.

The Tahoe Cup race series, presented by O’Neill and hosted by the Lake Tahoe Paddleboard Association (LTPA), features three events throughout the summer - the Donner Lake race on May 24th, the Jam From the Dam on July 12th, and the Tahoe Fall Classic on September 14th.
