Over Five Feet of New Snow at Squaw Vallley
The winter storm systems moving across the Sierra Nevada over the last several days have delivered more than 61 inches of snow to Palisades Tahoe and 42 inches to Alpine Meadows. The significant snowfall has created exceptional conditions and set up skiers and riders up with a welcome boost to the spring season.

Palisades Tahoe Receives Over Five Feet in Six Days, with Snow Still Falling
[Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, Calif.] April 1, 2014 – The winter storm systems moving through the Sierra Nevada have now delivered 61 inches of snow to Palisades Tahoe and 42 inches to Alpine Meadows in the last six days.
With snow still coming down at the resorts, the mountains are expected to receive an additional three to seven inches by Wednesday morning. NOAA is forecasting light snow showers and cool temperatures throughout the rest of week, with sunny days projected for this Saturday and Sunday.
The recent five feet of snow and forecasted sunny skies could make this weekend one of the best weekends of the winter season, and Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows will be making the most of it with a full line-up of weekend events. Palisades Tahoe’s mountaintop hot tub will be the place to be this Saturday, April 5th with a DJ pool party from 1-4 p.m. Over at Alpine Meadows, the recent snow means the Ice Bar will re-open with an on-mountain bash on the backside of the mountain on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Down at the base of Alpine Meadows, guests can check out Oakland funk/soul band The Grease Traps as part of the Spring Concert Series on the Alpine Meadows’ sundeck from 1-4 p.m.
