Sugar Bowl To Open This Weekend
Sugar Bowl Resort has announced that it will open for its 74th season with top-to-bottom skiing & riding on Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th. The resort, located atop Donner Summit, plans to open three lifts with access to 11 trails and 1500 vertical feet of terrain.

SUGAR BOWL RESORT TO OPEN THE 2013/14 SEASON OF SKIING & RIDING THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7
(Donner Summit, Calif.) – Sugar Bowl Resort will open for its 74th season with top-to-bottom skiing & riding on Saturday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m.
A recent storm dropping 10” new snow, colder snowmaking temperatures and a favorable forecast calling for more snow later this week allowed resort management to announce that the iconic resort atop Donner Summit will open the season with 11 trails and 1,500 vertical feet of skiing & riding off the Nob Hill, Christmas Tree and Mt. Lincoln Express chairlifts.
Access to the resort will be via the Village side, with skiers & riders parking on the highway side and riding the free gondola across to the Village base area.
Lift tickets will be $72 for adults, $60 for young adults, $62 for seniors, $22 for super seniors and $20 for children. CORE Daily Passholders, just $21 to join, will save an additional $10-$15 on their lift ticket, depending on age bracket.
The Mountain Sports Learning Center will be offering the new group Learn to Ski & Ride Development Program only, with morning and afternoon sessions available.
After the opening weekend, Sugar Bowl be closed for skiing & riding midweek, reopening again on Saturday, December 14.
