Shop Local & Win This Holiday Season

Shoppers from near and far have a chance to win big prizes as the support the local economy as North Lake Tahoe's business associations' annual 'Shop Local Contest' November 29th through January 10th, 2014, featuring numerous participating merchants and big list of prizes for participating shoppers.
Keep your holiday shopping dollars local and win prizes by participating in the 7th Annual Shop Local Contest. Shop Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day for a chance to win $4,000 in prizes including a $300 Dave’s Skis and Boards Gift Certificate, Diamond Peak Season Pass, Homewood Mountain Resort Season Pass, Tahoe Value Pass, or a Gold Tahoe Super Pass. Participants also have a chance to win other great prizes from local businesses.
All you have to do is a pick up a Shop Local Contest Card and start shopping. For every $25 you spend at participating retailers in Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village, Palisades Tahoe and the Village at Northstar, you’ll receive a sticker on your contest card. When four stickers are collected the contest card is eligible to win; multiple entries are allowed. Contest Cards will be available at businesses throughout North Lake Tahoe. For a list of participating businesses, prizes and complete contest rules including no purchase necessary rules, visit www.ShopLocalNorthTahoe.com. Turn in your contest card(s) by January 10, 2014 at the locations or mailing address listed on the card and you will be entered into the prize drawing.
When you shop local, you help the North Lake Tahoe economy and help to keep small independent retailers in business. Your dollars spent locally have three times the impact on the community as dollars spent at national chains. When shopping locally, you help create jobs, fund local services through sales tax, reduce environmental impact and support the development of our neighborhoods and communities. Plus, you’ll find great unique gifts for everyone on your list.
Last year, the Shop Local Contest tracked over $190,000 in spending locally which was double the dollars spent the previous year.
“Every year the program has increased its economic impact on the local community and we have the goal to generate $250,000 in local holiday shopping through this year’s program,” says Joy Doyle, executive director of North Tahoe Business Association.
