Cobblestone Oktoberfest Kicks Off Harvest Festival

The days are getting shorter but the fun is still running long in Tahoe City. Tahoe City's annual Harvest Festival kicks off on October 6th with the lively and popular Cobblestone Oktoberfest.   Check out the cornucopia of fun activities during Harvest Festival Oct. 6 – 31!

Cobblestone Oktoberfest – Saturday, Oct. 6

As Harvest Festival’s official kick-off event, the Cobblestone Oktoberfest is set for Saturday, Oct. 6th from 1-4 PM.  This fun family event is a classic tip-o-the-hat to beer, brats, live music, stein hoisting, wiener toss contests, pumpkin painting and beyond. Tahoe City invites all Oktoberfest-goers to don their finest lederhosen and arrive with an appetite - as well as strong stein-lifting biceps. And don’t forget the German Wine Tasting at Uncorked in the Cobblestone from 1 – 4pm. Live music will be appropriately provided by North Tahoe's own 'Beer Gardeners'.

Snowfest! Scarecrow Sprint & Stroll – Saturday, Oct. 13

The 2nd Annual Snowfest Scarecrow Sprint & Stroll offers a fun 5k and 10k run, as well as two kids’ fun runs.  Starting and finishing at Tahoe City’s Commons Beach, each run awards prizes for colorful costumes as well as top finishes.  The Scarecrow Sprint & Stroll fun runs begins at 11 a.m. Visit TahoeSnowFest.com to pre-register.  


Zombie Pub Crawl – Saturday, Oct. 13

For the non-running crowd, crawling may be a more enticing activity – and the Zombie Pub Crawl calls all crawling champions to the Bridgetender Bar & Grill for a 7 p.m. start.  “Crawl through town on a classic pub crawl venture, from the B.T. to Lakeside Pizza and Hacienda del Lago – three of Tahoe City’s classic lakeside bars and restaurants.  Wristbands can be purchased at The Store, located in downtown Tahoe City. 



Bloody Aftermath – Sunday, Oct. 14

Bloody Aftermath invites all Zombies to once again join the living at Rosie’s Café from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Former zombies who reveal (or can find) their wristband from the prior evening will enjoy a Bloody Mary and “former-zombie” breakfast for $11.99.

Jake’s on the Lake Food & Wine Pairing - Wednesday October 17th
Jake’s on the Lake presents its Harvest Festival Food & Wine Pairing Dinner starting at 6 p.m.  Enjoy Jake’s extensive fall menu paired perfectly with autumn wines – as well as the lakeside favorite’s entire menu and lively bar.  Call 530.583.0188 for reservations. 



Gatekeeper's Ghost Walk – Thursday, Oct. 18

Enjoy the thrill of a night adventure, the celebrated spookiness of October, and the beauty of an autumn night stroll by walk through the haunted nature trail at Tahoe City’s Layton Park.  Free to participate, brave walkers will also enjoy hot cider and refreshments starting at the Gatekeeper’s Museum at 7:30 p.m.

“Felt a Pumpkin” Workshop – Saturday, Oct. 20

No two mediums indicate autumn like pumpkins and felt; and the North Tahoe Arts Center invites arts and crafts lovers of all ability levels to an introductory instructional course on the art of needle felting.  Ages 15+ are welcome to register for the 1p.m. – 4 p.m. course.  For additional information, call North Tahoe Arts Center at 530.581.2787.
