Solstice Festival: Good Times To Be Had In Tahoe City

The Tahoe City Downtown Association presents festivities, events, a wine walk, food and fun during the annual Solstice Festival, continuing this weekend.

The Tahoe City Solstice Festival is the summer kick-off for locals and visitors alike.This year's four-day event is highlighted by the Tahoe City Wine Walk, and surrounded by numerous other events and activities.

June 21: Farmer’s Market, 8am – 1pm
California certified farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and more at Commons Beach.

June 21: Tahoe City Classic Car Stroll, 6-8pm
The Tahoe City the Classic Car Stroll brings a huge collection of classic cars and vehicles to line the main drag in Tahoe City.  Parking on the North side of North Lake Blvd will be utilized from 4pm to 8pm for the event.  All public lots and all parking on the South side of North Lake Blvd will not be affected. 

June 21: Mark Twain Tahoe Mystery - Gatekeeper's Museum
An evening of discussion and theory among attendees and renowned Tahoe-based historians and authors David Antonucci and Robert Stewart, about the life and times of Mark Twain while he lived at and explored Lake Tahoe. The event is free to North Lake Tahoe Historical Society members; and a $10 donation is accepted from non-members.

June 22: Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance
Hosted at the Bridgetender Restaurant, the name synonymous with fun in Tahoe City. True to tradition, the event embraces “festival alfresco”, hosted at the B.T. patio, eventually reaching the town’s boulevard and Tahoe City’s landmark Fanny Bridge. Live music, dinner and drink specials, and street party revelry offer a Tahoe City experience not to be missed. The Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance is free to attend; and portions of the evening’s Bridgetender proceeds benefit the Tahoe City Independence Day fireworks fund. Proceeds benefit the Tahoe City Fireworks Fund.

Fanny Bridge Hotties  Fanny Bridge Hotties is an event designed to showcase all the finest gals in Tahoe City, while raising money for the Tahoe City Fireworks on July 4th!  This event will take place during the street dance.

June 23: Tahoe City Wine Walk
Enjoy wines with a view as you sip and stroll through downtown Tahoe City. 30 tasting locations throughout Tahoe City, plus live music on multiple stages. Noon until 4pm. Tickets online at www.TahoeCityWineWalk.com

June 23: Aaron Wilson Comedy Showcase, 8pm
Lakeside Pizza presents an evening of comedy with Aaron Wilson, Carlos Rodriguez, and Jon Uberroth.

Through June 24: Art & Solstice Exhibit.
The North Tahoe Arts Center presents the Art & Solstice exhibit. Hosting the work of up to ten renowned Northern California artists, this showing pays homage to all things “summer-inspired” through all medium.The Art & Solstice exhibit is free to view. www.NorthTahoeArts.com

June 24: Concerts at Commons Beach – Opening Day!
From 2 until 7pm. FREE. Four bands, plus the Lakeside Trail Celebration.
