Kings Beach Free Concert Line-Up Announced

North Tahoe Business Association has announced the band line-up for the 6th annual Music on the Beach free concert series. The nine-week series takes place at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area and  kicks off Friday, July 6 and runs every Friday evening, 6:30-8:30 p.m., through August 31.

Local favorites, the Blues Monsters, will open the series on July 6th with “modern rockin’ blues,” followed by Peter Joseph Burtt and The Kings Tide on July 13 performing world blues and soul tunes. July 20 will feature a blues rock band, Serina Dawn, and Funky Miracle will bring the audience to their feet on July 27.

August heats up with a folk, bluegrass upbeat Americana trio, McCoy Tyler Band on August 3, followed by Truckee’s One Track Mind, playing roots rock’ n roll with a twist on August 10. From the SF Bay Area, Zanzibar will perform afro funk Latin groove music on August 17, then on August 24, Downbeat will play gritty, booty-shakin’ funk and soul. Music on the Beach will close out the series on August 31 with an inspiring blend of folk, soul and world music by the Tyler Matthew Smith band.

While enjoying great, free, live music performances on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Tahoe, concert attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Sierra Nevada Summer Ale and wine and Music on the Beach t-shirts at the concerts.

“This free music series is sure to entertain,” said Joy Doyle, executive director of the North Tahoe Business Association, which hosts the series. “With the exceptional music line-up and new beer sponsor this year, past attendees and those who have never attended are encouraged to check it out!
