'I Am Unbreakable' - PUSH Expedition Team Welcomed Home
Members of the PUSH Project, a group of Lake Tahoe adventurers, including adaptive athlete Grant Korgan, that reached the South Pole on January 17th, were welcomed home at a packed event on January 31st in Palisades Tahoe.
Hosted by the Palisades Tahoe Institute, the 'Welcome Home' event drew hundreds of family, friends and supporters to greet and congratulate the expedition team, which included photographer Keoki Flagg, expedition leader Doug Stoup, guide Tal Fletcher, and adaptive athlete Grant Korgan, the center of attention, who 'pushed' his way to the Pole on a sit-ski, making him the first adaptive athlete ever to reach the South Pole.
The emotional event, which drew tears throughout the crowd, included presentations by each member of the team in addition to photos and film footage from the event. The raw emotions that were shared demonstrated the intensity of the trek and the scale of the achievement.
Tahoe TV was on hand to capture some of the intense thoughts and sentiments of the occasion.
