Gold Country, Placer County Get A 'Top Ten' Ranking from Lonely Planet
Travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has picked Northern California’s Gold Country and Placer County for its 2012 list of top 10 U.S. destinations.
Tahoe's ties to the region could see some impact as the North Lake Tahoe area is part of Placer County, and Lake Tahoe is a sure-bet side trip from the Gold Country.
