Where else but in Tahoe will you find ski resorts on the beach? This Sunday, Aug. 28, some of the North Shore’s top alpine resorts will take part in the first-ever Winter Preview Expo held in conjunction with the Tahoe City’s Concerts at Commons Beach  series.

Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Palisades Tahoe and Sugar Bowl will be present at the concert which will be headlined by New Monsoon. Resort representatives will be on hand to distribute information and answer questions about the upcoming 2011-12 season.

“This is a great addition to an already great venue,” says Dave Wilderotter, past-president of the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA). “We hope everyone comes out and and enjoys free music on the beach and learn what’s new at their favorite resort.”

New Monsoon is a veteran San Francisco-based rock-jam band  which blends electric rock ‘n roll with acoustic style and a world music flair. The Expo kicks off at 4 p.m. and the music starts at 4:30 p.m.

The Tahoe City Commons Beach Concerts are produced by the Tahoe City Downtown Association and the Tahoe City Public Utility District.
