Beer & Bluegrass Festival Highlights July 4th Events at Northstar
As the July 4 holiday approaches, Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort is preparing to host a variety of events and activities for guests of all ages over the extended weekend. The resort’s annual Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival will officially kick off the weekend, and other activities planned include an evening of stargazing with Tahoe Star Tours, July 4 festivities including a kid’s parade through the Village at Northstar, live music, and more.
The Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival, a summer favorite, will take place Saturday, July 2 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. featuring performances by The Get Down Boys, The Earl Brothers and bluegrass favorite, Dead Winter Carpenters, along with beer tasting from more than 30 Northern California and Northern Nevada breweries. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.NorthstarAtTahoe.com for $30 in advance, or on-site the day of the event for $38, and include a commemorative pint glass. Fun will be had by the whole family as the resort will also offer non-alcoholic beverages, a tasty BBQ, ice cream float station and outdoor games.
On July 1, 2 and 3, those interested in a guided tour of the night sky won’t want to miss the opportunity to participate in Tahoe Star Tours with Tony Berendsen, president of the Nevada Science Coalition. Tours are offered throughout the summer and feature a laser tour of the night sky, poetry reading, fun space quiz with prizes, and telescopic viewing. Tickets can be purchased online in advance, and are available for $30 for ages 13+, $15 for children ages 12 and under.
Visitors looking to avoid the crowded beaches of Lake Tahoe over the extended weekend are invited to partake in 4th of July festivities in the Village at Northstar. Enjoy live music by The Blues Monsters from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3 on the Village Stage, and roller skating on Northstar® Resort’s outdoor rink from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Monday, July 4, kids are welcome to decorate their bikes, razor scooter, dog or themselves at Mine in the Village at Northstar, then participate in the Independence Day Kid’s Bike Parade throughout the Village between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Darin Talbot will perform live on the Village Stage from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and roller skating will be offered from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
