Tahoe TV Brings Live HD Webcams to Lake Tahoe

Tahoe TV, operators of Lake Tahoe’s largest independent media network and numerous Lake Tahoe webcams, and CamZone, a San Diego technology company specializing in high-definition live camera systems, have announced an alliance to bring live, HD quality, streaming images of Lake Tahoe to the world on the web, mobile, television, and other digital media platforms.

“Our popular webcam network delivers Lake Tahoe’s spectacular scenery and exciting visuals to viewers around the world 365 days a year,” explained Eric Brandt, President & CEO of Tahoe TV. “The expansion of the network and upgrade to CamZone’s exceptional HD technology will take it to a whole new level.”

Through the alliance, Tahoe TV is a Preferred Provider of CamZone’s products and streaming services in the Lake Tahoe and Reno region, paving the way for the upgrade of existing cameras in Tahoe City, Palisades Tahoe, Sunnyside, Northstar, Truckee and elsewhere to the new HD format. Most, if not all, are expected to have live video streaming before summer.

The first round of camera upgrades already completed include:

Palisades Tahoe’s popular upper mountain ‘UberCam’

Additional upgrades and new camera locations will also be implemented in the months ahead.

“Lake Tahoe is the perfect place to roll out our new technology and we’re excited to be working with Tahoe TV,” said Tim Sears, Vice President and Co-Founder of I2B Networks, which owns CamZone. “From on-mountain cameras, to scenic cameras and traffic cameras, these webcams provide unmatched marketing value to our mutual clients, as well as timely and engaging information to viewers.”

CamZone (www.camzone.com) currently provides its live-streaming HD webcams to locations in Southern California including Sea World’s popular live cameras, beach/surf cameras, and several San Diego Hotels.

The new cameras and streaming system will deliver HD-quality images of Lake Tahoe scenes to viewers anywhere in the world via the web, mobile devices and other media platforms. The images will be integrated into Tahoe TV's daily cable  TV show and the Reno Tahoe Visitor Network, providing current live images to viewers around the region at home and in thousands of guest rooms.

Tahoe TV's mantra, 'watch where you're going - look where you've been' is perfectly in line with the agressive upgrade.

"Tahoe fans from just about anywhere will be able to literally watch the action going on in Lake Tahoe," says Brandt. "Our motto is to capture the Tahoe experience and share it with the world, and this is right in line."

Additionally, via special arrangements, the new technology will allow Tahoe TV's clients to deliver live HD video to broadcast and cable television stations and other media partners anywhere in the world.

Tahoe TV’s regional webcam network, which has been in operation since 2004 and is still the only one of its kind, generates millions of page views every year on Tahoe TV’s web portal, Tahoetopia.com (www.tahoetopia.com) and other websites, and is the largest established network of webcams in the Lake Tahoe region. Popular webcam locations include Sunnyside Resort, Kings Beach State Beach, Jake's on the Lake/Tahoe City Marina, Historic Downtown Truckee, and other locations.
