The seventh annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop set for Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 from noon to 4 p.m. in historic downtown Truckee.
 
Synonymous with both the season and the locale, this event offers attendees a day of indulgence featuring wonderful wines, fabulous foods and splendid shopping – all in charming downtown Truckee.
 
Part of the heart and soul of this event is its nonprofit beneficiary. This year, the chosen event non-profit beneficiary is Sierra Senior Services, which provides daily hot nutritious meals primarily to low-income individuals, specifically the most frail and homebound seniors, ensuring that this segment of the population will remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.
 
Each ticket includes wine tastings with over 30 wineries, five food tickets, commemorative glass, program/passport and goodie bag. The passport program proved to be a popular addition to last year’s festivities.  Attendees are encouraged to get their program maps stamped at each venue they visit – and they must visit shops in different areas of town as designated on the map – to be eligible to be entered in the Wine, Walk & Shop raffle. Prizes include selections from participating wineries as well as dining and lodging packages, gift certificates and more.

Tickets for the seventh annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk and Shop are just $30 in advance ($40 day of) and are available online at www.TruckeeWineWalk.com. A small $3 service fee applies for online sales.
