September is one of the favorite months in Lake Tahoe when the pace slows but the events and activities flourish. This week, it's all about fun, food and wine.

Here's a look at some top picks around the region for the days ahead...

Thursday, Sept 9:
Tahoe City lakeside Farmer's Markets continue at Commons Beach from 8am-1pm. Again this week, watch for top Tahoe chef, Douglas Dale as he leads his special cooking workshop through the market.

Lake Tahoe Restaurant Week continues daily through Sept 12th with special menus and discounts at over 30 restaurants around the Lake. Check out our map of participating restaurants.

TGI Thursdays, the Village at Northstar's weekly wine, dine and shopping evening featuring food and drink specials and other discounts. 

Jake's on the Lake in Tahoe City, hosts a special photography presentation, "Travels Through Ethiopia".

Friday, Sept 10:
The 25th Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival kicks off at the Village at Northstar with the Grape Stomp and a special reception at the Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe.

Jake's on the Lake in Tahoe City, presents live music in the Cafe' with Abby & Ellen.

Northstar-at-Tahoe hosts a special Tahoe Star Tours event with a tribute to Carl Sagan.

TGR Films presents the premiere of Jeremy Jones' "Deeper" - a brand new snowboard adventure film. Watch the trailer and an interview with Jeremy Jones.

Saturday, Sept 11:
The Tahoe Maritime Museum holds an open house at their annex facility in Truckee.

Trails & Vistas holds their September Art Hike in Palisades Tahoe's beautiful Shirley Canyon.

For a little road trip, the Great Reno Balloon Race is a fun experience for kids and adults, and in the afternoon, head to Virginia City for the International Camel Races.

Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival is in full swing with a day of cooking demonstrations, tastings, and the exciting Blazing Pans Cookoff.

Jake's on the Lake in Tahoe City, hosts a special Food & Wine Pairing event.

Sunday, Sept 12:
Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival wraps it up with the Grand Tasting celebration.
