Hello summer revelers! Welcome to the Tahoe TV/Tahoetopia Reno-Tahoe Weekend Planner for July 8-12, 2010.

While some are still recovering from the July 4th shenanigans and ingestions, the action does not wane. Beerfests, bluegrass, western days, concerts, Shakespeare and much more is on the slate for the first real summer weekend.

Here's a look at some top picks for the days ahead...

Thursday, July 8:
Tahoe City lakeside Farmer's Markets continue at Commons Beach from 8am-1pm.

Truckee Thursdays hit their summer stride this week, with a full-on community street festival, farmer's market, and more. Live music this week comes from Ben Jammin's All Stars.

The Village at Northstar throws a wine, dine and shopping evening with their weekly TGI Thursdays, featuring food and drink specials and other discounts.

In Sparks, the big kahuna of Farmer's Markets takes place at the Sparks' Hometowne Farmer's Market in Victorian Square, featuring music, food and drink, vendors, and a large farmer's market selection.

North Tahoe Arts holds the opening reception for the Tahoe ARTour Thursday evening in Tahoe City.

Friday, July 9:
The Tahoe ARTour starts the first of two weekends of open studios and receptions.

It’s a classic domestic and foreign car show and fair at the 20th Annual Cannibal Cruise at the Truckee Regional Park Friday through Sunday, with a Saturday night Sock Hop.

This Weekend:
Saturday and Sunday Northstar-at-Tahoe hosts their annual Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival, with beer tasting from 25+ breweries and live music.

Palisades Tahoe USA ropes in the Wild West Weekend at High Camp, with country music, pony rides, a petting zoo and more.

Tahoe City’s new Eriksson Education Center, at the newly restored historic Tahoe Fish Hatchery provides a Children’s Environmental Science Day Saturday, July 10, 1-4 p.m., with hands-on activities for kids ages 6+, live animal presentations, living green presentation and free ice cream.

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival starts its run at Sand Harbor with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) running nearly every night, and the Sand Harbor Music series starting on Monday.

ON THE MUSIC FRONT...
Jake's on the Lake
, in Tahoe City, presents the Hester Jazz Trio on Friday night.

Kings Beach's Friday night Music on the Beach presents the Mark Castro Band, on the sand.

The Crystal Bay Casino presents free shows by Sol Jibe Friday night and ALBINO on Saturday - both in the Crown Room.

On Sunday, the Tahoe City Concerts at Commons Beach welcomes Tahoe favorites Mumbo Gumbo.

Monday night, the Sand Harbor Music Series gets underway with Broadway on the Beach.
