Tahoe TV Expands Reach to Bay Area Viewers

Cable television viewers in the greater San Francisco Bay Area now have access to a new selection of original, timely video content from Lake Tahoe 24/7 via Comcast Cable’s Video On Demand (VOD) service. Produced by Tahoe TV, the video segments will provide viewers with updated information on activities, recreation, dining, and events happening around Lake Tahoe and Reno during the coming winter season.

Available under a new, exclusive “Lake Tahoe/Reno” category, Tahoe TV’s content will include a monthly segment, Tahoe Time, featuring a look at activities, dining, events and entertainment, as well as weekly resort updates in the Lake Tahoe Snow Report, and other timely and informative videos.

“Lake Tahoe is part of so many Northern Californian’s lives,” explained Eric Brandt, President of Tahoe TV. “Tahoe TV’s network and programs are created keep them up to date on what’s happening, and invite them to visit.”

Tahoe TV’s move to Video On Demand delivery follows over a year of research and development. Working with local organizations, Tahoe TV produced several video programs for VOD earlier this year, including segments on Snowfest, Tahoe City’s Heart & Solstice Festival and North Tahoe’s Passport to Dining event. Each of the videos were available on VOD for a month, and attracted thousands of viewers.

“We’ve been closely watching the growth of VOD (Video On Demand) around the country,” said Brandt. “Our recent experience with Comcast's On Demand product has proven that it delivers results for our programs, viewers and clients.”

Tahoe TV’s programs will be available on Comcast Digital Cable Video On Demand, channel 888 for digital subscribers, starting in November, reaching a total of over 1 million households 24 hours a day, from Mendocino to Monterey, and also in Santa Barbara. Tahoe TV's programming also airs daily on Charter Cable to 153,000 households around Reno and Lake Tahoe, and Suddenlink Cable in Truckee and North Tahoe, and online at Tahoetopia.com.
