Weather Outlook: Snow Into Tuesday
A Pacific storm system, followed by a strong cold front will bring snow to the Lake Tahoe basin Monday night and into Tuesday, with 6-12" of new snow expected above 7000'. Snow and rain fell most of the day Monday, and by early evening snow was falling at lake level. Moderate to heavy snow is forecast Monday night through early Tuesday. The NWS has issued the following Winter Weather Advisory.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST TUESDAY.
* LIGHT RAIN WITH SNOW SHOWERS ABOVE 7000 FEET WILL BECOME ALL SNOW DURING THE EVENING ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA AND WESTERN LASSEN COUNTY. MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL SPREAD SOUTH LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING WITH THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 8 INCHES IN LASSEN COUNTY WEST OF HIGHWAY 395. 4 TO 8 INCHES AT LAKE LEVEL WITH 6 TO 12 INCHES IN THE SIERRA ABOVE 7000 FEET.
* SNOW LEVELS WILL FALL TO ALL VALLEY FLOORS BY 8 PM PST THIS EVENING.

Tuesday: Scattered snow showers, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. East wind around 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 35. East wind between 10 and 15 mph.
