'Wall Of White' Author to Speak About 1982 Avalanche at Alpine Meadows

Recounting an event that has forever made a mark on Alpine Meadows and the greater Tahoe community, on March 11th, author Jennifer Woodleif will speak about the writing of her book, 'A Wall of White,' and the story of the 1982 avalanche at Alpine Meadows that killed seven people.

The story focuses on the rescue of Anna Conrad, who after five days buried alive in snow, was brought to safety by tenacious rescuers. 

This Palisades Tahoe Institute program takes place on Thursday, March 11, beginning at 6:00 PM at Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, with a no-host bar opening at 5:30 PM. 
 
Woodlief, who splits time between Truckee and Tiburon, California has worked as a reporter for Sports Illustrated as well as an assistant district attorney and a CIA case officer with a top-secret clearance.  Her first book, Ski to Die: The Bill Johnson Story, was published in 2005 and optioned by Warner Bros. for a movie.
