Tahoe Donner Cross Country, which opened for the season recently, has created a special 'Good Neighbor' offer for season pass holders at other area Nordic centers that are either closed or limited in their offerings.

TRUCKEE, CA – Winter is finally here for most area ski centers, and the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center opened last week to crowds of eager skiers. Now the facility in the upper elevations of Truckee has created a special offer for season pass holders at other area Nordic centers that are either closed or limited in their offerings.
 
An adult day pass at Tahoe Donner costs $25, but the Good Neighbor Pass Holder Discount has been offered for $17 (a 32% break) to season pass holders at Royal Gorge, Tahoe XC, the Resort at Squaw Creek, Auburn Ski Club, Northstar and Spooner Lake.
 
“We were contacted by a few other area cross country centers to see what we could do to accommodate their pass holders, and we decided to offer them a deep discount,” says Kirt Zimmer, director of sales and marketing for Tahoe Donner. “We’re competitors with these areas, but we also work together to promote the sport. We think it’s in the best interest of all that people get out skiing. The conditions here are actually quite good now. We hosted an international event this week with athletes from 13 countries and received a lot of positive feedback about our ability to pull it off when other regional events have been cancelled.”
 
The Good Neighbor deal is valid Monday-Friday for the rest of this season, with the exception of February 20. Pass holders simply need to present their pass at the ticket desk to receive the discount.
