Tahoe City Solstice Festival Set for June 20-23
The 8th Annual Tahoe City Solstice Festival is set for Thursday, June 20th through Sunday, June 23. Signature events include the Adventure Sports Week, Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show, Bridgetender Street Dance, the Tahoe City Wine Walk, and the opening show of Tahoe City's popular Concerts At Commons Beach.

TAHOE CITY, Calif. (Date) — The Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) has scheduled the 8th Annual Tahoe City Solstice Festival for Thursday, June 20th through Sunday, June 23. Coinciding with Solstice Festival is Adventure Sports Week, Lake Tahoe’s premier outdoor lifestyle event from June 21 – June 30.
The Tahoe City Solstice Festival includes signature events over the course of four days, all of which tout Tahoe City’s distinct qualities and character: instant access to Lake Tahoe, artisan food and wine, acclaimed musicians and artists, and celebrated collection of shops, restaurants, and galleries.
Adventure Sports Week highlights the best of Tahoe City’s immediate, world-class access to infinite outdoor activities and sports, such as trail running, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, road and mountain biking, and triathlons. Adventure Sports Week welcomes both competitive and non-competitive participants. As part of the XTERRA series, registered XTERRA athletes may earn points within the XTERRA U.S. Point Series. Thursday, June 20, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show converts Tahoe City’s North Lake Tahoe Boulevard into a nostalgic journey through Tahoe’s love affair with classic automobiles and collector cars. From Ford and Chevy to Rolls Royce and Alfa Romeo, classic cars decorate both shoulders of Tahoe City’s central, lakefront boulevard – creating an ambiance to be appreciated by all. The Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show is free and attendees are encouraged to cast their vote for the best in show. Friday, June 21, 7 p.m. – Street Dance The Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance is hosted at the Bridgetender Restaurant, the name synonymous with fun in Tahoe City. True to tradition, the event embraces “festival alfresco”, hosted at the B.T. patio, eventually reaching the town’s boulevard and Tahoe City’s landmark Fanny Bridge. Live music, dinner and drink specials, and street party revelry offer a Tahoe City experience not to be missed. The Bridgetender Fireworks Fundraiser Street Dance is free to attend; and portions of the evening’s Bridgetender proceeds benefit the Tahoe City Independence Day fireworks fund. Saturday, June 22, Noon – 4 p.m. As the marquee event of the Tahoe City Solstice Festival, the Tahoe City Wine Walk is heralded as the most fun you can have in Tahoe City in one afternoon. 30 shops, restaurants, and businesses spanning Tahoe City’s pedestrian-friendly center host premium wine tastings paired with masterfully-prepared hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants, custom caterers, and secret gourmet chefs. Wine-walkers are treated to three live musical performances along their journey, including Dean Smith at the North Tahoe Arts Center; The Roamers at Heritage Plaza; and Dan Copeland at Boatworks Mall. Tickets may be purchased in advance at TahoeCityWineWalk.com for $35 - as well as local shops including Tahoe City Ticket Outlets – James-Harold Galleries, North Lake Tahoe Visitor’s Center, Tahoe Dave’s, The Store, Uncorked Wine Bar. At Truckee Ticket Outlets – The Carmel Gallery, Truckee River Winery, Uncorked Wine Bar. Day-of tickets are available for $45 (cash only) at North Tahoe Arts Center, the Boatworks Mall, and Heritage Plaza. Sunday, June 23, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The Concerts at Commons Beach weekly summer music performances officially kick off Sunday, June 23rd, featuring four live performances by renowned bands, Trey Stone Band, California Honeydrops, Mumbo Gumbo and more. Concerts at Commons Beach is a free series, open to all ages, and located at water’s edge of North Lake Tahoe. Local vendors offer an array of fresh dishes and beverages throughout each performance. Arrive early for a front-stage spot, get ready to dance, and pack a swimsuit for good measure.
