Tahoe City Hosts First XTERRA Event of the Summer

XTERRA Tahoe City, an off-road triathlon that celebrates the natural environment of the North Shores excellent terrain, trails and blue water, swims, runs and rolls through Tahoe City on June 26th.

The XTERRA Tahoe City event is the first of several Xterra events, triathlons, adventure races and trail runs in Seventh Wave Productions' Big Blue Adventure series this summer.

XTERRA Tahoe City’s swim occurs in one of the clearest, cleanest, and deepest lakes in North America, Lake Tahoe. Depending on the lake level, the long course includes a 50 meter beach run. The openness of Lake Tahoe makes for a truly open water swim experience.

Tahoe City is also home to some of the area’s most treasured mountain biking trails. The biking section starts with a strong climb, continuing on to take riders through fields of wildflowers, and breath taking sierra views. The trails are faster than they are rocky, but the climbs and elevation will test ones fitness level. The start and finish is at Commons Beach in Tahoe City.

Race day registration is available from 6-6:45am Saturday of the race.

Course Distances
Full Course: 2X 750 meter laps with a 50 meter beach run (lake level dependent), 22 mile bike, 6 mile run
Short Course: 750 meter lap, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run

Just to give an idea of the race length last year’s results were as follows:
