Skiing For Schools Cards Available

The Tahoe-Truckee area's popular Skiing For Schools cards are available now, offering skiers and riders discounted lift tickets at participating resorts during specified periods, while at the same time supporting local education programs at Tahoe -Truckee area schools.

DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS AVAILABLE DURING SKIING FOR SCHOOLS DAYS
Skiers and riders enjoy savings on lift tickets; proceeds benefit local schools

Truckee, CA – Skiers and riders are invited to take advantage of discounted lift tickets while simultaneously supporting local education with the pre-purchase of Skiing for Schools lift tickets and trail passes valid at participating resorts.  With a variety of dates and resorts, those who purchase tickets have multiple opportunities to contribute to the success of local students.

This season’s Skiing for Schools days include:

·       Sugar Bowl – $40 lift tickets valid any one day from Dec. 14-20, 2013

·       Tahoe Donner Cross Country - $15 trail pass valid any one day Jan. 5–10, 2014

·       Homewood Mountain Resort - $40 lift ticket valid any one day from Jan. 12-17, 2014

·       Tahoe Cross County - $15 trail pass valid any one day Jan. 26-31, 2014

·       Tahoe Donner Ski Area - $30 lift ticket valid any one day from Jan. 26-31, 2014

·       Northstar California - $60 lift ticket valid any one day from Feb. 2–7, 2014

·       Royal Gorge - $15 trail pass valid any one day from March 1-7, 2014

·       Sugar Bowl – $40 lift ticket valid any one day from March 22-28, 2014

·       Palisades Tahoe & Alpine Meadows - $40 lift ticket valid any one day at either resort from April 6-end of the 2013-2014 winter season.

  “This program continues to be both an affordable way to showcase our many amazing local resorts, while also raising money in support of programs at our local schools,” explained Laura Abbey Brown, Executive Director of the Excellence in Education Foundation. “We hope that people will take advantage of the fantastic deals on tickets and support programs that benefit our students.”

Downhill resort tickets may be purchased the week prior to the designated dates at Porters Sports in Truckee and Tahoe Dave’s in Tahoe City, Truckee and Kings Beach. Cross-country resort trail passes may be purchased the week prior to the designated dates at Paco’s in Truckee and Alpenglow in Tahoe City. A limited number of tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis, and will not be available for purchase at the resorts.  Check and cash payment are preferred.  Credit cards accepted at Tahoe Dave’s.  Tickets are non-refundable.
 
The proceeds from each lift ticket purchase directly support the Excellence in Education Foundation, which provides enhanced educational opportunities to local Tahoe-Truckee area students.
