North Lake Tahoe Update

The following report is produced and distributed regularly by the North Lake Tahoe Visitors Bureaus, the Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau and the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association.

Sunny, clear skies and beautiful fall weather all week in North Lake Tahoe, with highs in the upper 60s. Fall activities continue with many haunting attractions.

Resorts and Towns’ Update:
Tahoe Peak Endurance has partnered with Tahoe Cross Country to offer an ongoing outdoor exercise program designed to make you fit and ready for the trails and slopes. Classes are Tuesday, 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome. Cost is $12/person per class.

Mark your calendar for Truckee’s Historical Haunted Walking Tour Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21 as old timers tell historic tales of the Wild West, ladies of nocturnal delights sing tunes and entertaining characters share folklore on the nearly 2-hour tour. Tickets are $30/person.

Tahoe City hosts the Zombie Pub Crawl & Graveyard Dance Party Thursday, October 20, beginning at 6 p.m. at Bridgetender and then throughout other downtown pubs with the dance taking place at Lakeside Pizza at 9 p.m.

Relive Mark Twain’s western experience as portrayed in “Roughing It” by the Ghost of Twain, McAvoy Layne, Friday, October 21, 7 p.m., at the Mark Twain Cultural Center in Incline Village. Tickets are $24.99/adult and $9.99/student.

The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe presents a Fall Wellness Weekend Friday, October 21 through Sunday, October 23 with top experts from California and Nevada giving presentations on skin and skincare, nutrition, as well as fitness classes, such as yoga, pilates, belly dancing and aerobics.

As part of the 7th Annual Tahoe City Harvest Festival, the Tahoe City Public Utility District Parks & Recreation will host a Pumpkin Patch Carnival Saturday, October 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Rideout Community Center on the West Shore. Admission is free. Also popular is the month-long Scarecrows-On-Parade that decorate downtown Tahoe City on North Tahoe Boulevard.

Incline Village presents the 32nd Annual Pumpkin Patch Saturday, October 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Incline Elementary School. Attendees take part in pony rides, bounce house, picture booth and raffle prizes. Admission is free.

Alpenglow Sports in Tahoe City has partnered with Liberty Mountain and Pieps Avalanche Beacons to offer a free avalanche safety class Tuesday, October 25, 6:30 p.m. The 3-hour seminar will include an indoor and outdoor component, including education and field testing, and will help attendees better understand avalanche beacon function and the advancements of these tools.

 The Trail of Treats and Terror takes place Thursday, October 27, 5-8 p.m., when kids follow the trail via a shuttle to Incline Village Halloween fun sites, starting at the Parasol Graveyard Gala, then the Pumpkin Photos and Ghoulish Games at the Incline Village Recreation Center, the Dark Theatre at Lake Tahoe School and Haunted Halls at Sierra Nevada College.

 Pull out your best costume for the Creeper’s Ball at the Crystal Bay Club Casino in Crystal Bay Saturday, October 29, 10 p.m., with live music from Big 80’s band, Tainted Love.

Getting Around:
The North Lake Tahoe Express daily airport shuttle service is available to and from North Lake Tahoe and the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The shuttle runs from 3:30 a.m. until midnight. Fees are $40 per person, one-way, and $75 round trip. Discounts are available for groups of two or more. Reservations are required and can be made four hours in advance.


The North Lake Tahoe Recreation Update is part of a partnership between the North Lake Tahoe Visitors Bureaus, the Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau and the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association. The combined efforts of both entities are aimed to further promote North Lake Tahoe as a premier, year-round destination.
