Mumbo Gumbo Mixes It Up At Commons Beach Sunday

Tahoe favorites Mumbo Gumbo, celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer,  will grace the grass and sand at Tahoe City's spectacular lakefront venue, Commons Beach, in a free show Sunday July 11.

Mumbo Gumbo has been playing Lake Tahoe shows since its inception 20 years ago and this is sure to be a fantastic day at the beach.

From the Mumbo Gumbo website:
Mumbo Gumbo blends many genres, from rock to soul, afropop to lush balladry, zydeco to country, into a celebratory, danceable noise. Over nearly 20 years, on the septet’s eight albums and during countless gigs around their native Northern California, Mumbo Gumbo has created something that is less a specific style than a particular feeling: The sound of sheer joy.

Or, as one of the band's songs puts it, "That big life feeling."

The continuing line up for the Sunday afternoon free shows includes an exciting variety of music, including blues, zydeco, local acts, and much more.

The Concerts on Commons Beach, presented by the Tahoe City Downtown Association and the Tahoe City Public Utility District, began in 2005 and have come to be one of the signature summer events in Tahoe City, attracting scores of locals as well as visitors every Sunday afternoon.
