Living With Water

Even regular days of sunshine come with a price; we feel we must "do something" to take full advantage of the rays and ease of movement. The good news is that we have at hand the perfect antidote for stress from any source. We have the lake and the river, which are one in the same, really.

"Yes, as everyone knows, meditation and water are wedded forever." --Ishmael in Moby Dick.

"Nothing on earth is so weak and yielding as water, but for breaking down the firm and the strong it has no equal." --Lao-Tze

"As long as rivers shall run down to the sea, or shadows touch the mountain slopes, or stars graze in the vault of heaven, so long shall your honor and your name endure." --Virgil

"You can not step twice into the same river; for other waters are ever flowing on to you." --Heraclitus, 540-480 B.C.

"How long shall I love you?
As long as the moon shall rise,
As long as the river shall flow,
As long as the sun shall shine,
As long as the aspens shall grow." --Anonymous
