Homewood Opens Hiking and Mountain Bike Trails

Homewood Mountain Resort has announced the opening of a new network of West Shore hiking and mountain biking trails within the resort’s boundaries this summer offering hikers and bikers expansive views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding peaks.

“We are happy to open our mountain’s trails for local residents and visitors looking for a unique perspective of Lake Tahoe,” said General Manager Kevin Mitchell. “Homewood’s trail system includes a number of incredible vantage points to take in the panoramic views of Big Blue from above.”

There is no fee to utilize Homewood’s trail network, and hikers and mountain bikers are asked to stay on designated trails for safety and to protect recent on-mountain restoration work. Trail maps are available online at www.SkiHomewood.com/SummerTrailMap, or outside of the Homewood Mountain Sports retail store at the North Lodge. Motor vehicles are still not permitted on any of Homewood’s property.

The summer trails announcement follows the expansion of summer offerings at Homewood. The resort recently opened a summer retail & rental shop – Homewood Mountain Sports - where visitors may rent bicycles, kayaks and stand up paddleboards to explore the shores and bike paths of the West Shore.

Also new this summer is The Grill at Homewood – a mountainside outdoor cafe and beer garden at the north base of the resort that serves up grilled sandwiches, kebabs and other favorites.

In addition, Homewood has created a number of new summer events, including the Farm to Peak Dinner Series, Homewood Days and weekly yoga and cornhole activities.
