Gourmet Ski Tour Offers On-Snow Food Tasting

Ski and dine Tahoe style at North Lake tahoe’s only on-snow tasting event, the Gourmet Ski Tour, Sunday March 11th at Tahoe Cross Country.

Combine the exhilaration of a morning of gliding along forested cross-country ski trails followed by gourmet food, wine, spirits and tasty treats from some of North Lake Tahoe’s renowned restaurants, chefs, bakers and mixologists.The Gourmet Ski Tour, a fundraiser for the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association (TCCSEA) is held at the Tahoe Cross Country Center on Sunday, March 11th starting at 1:00 pm. 

Outdoors enthusiasts and foodies will ski or snowshoe from one food station to the next during what has become an epicurean, hedonistic, and fun afternoon, moving around at their leisure and tasting everything from soup to sushi.  The afternoon ends at the Tahoe XC 'Yurt' with margaritas and live music by “The Drunken Neighbors” from 2:30-5:00.

Participants are invited to dress in their favorite dance costume that fits this year’s theme, “snow dance”, and the winner of the costume contest will win a Tahoe XC season pass for next season.

This year's delectable selections and beverages will be provided by Sugar Pine Cakery, Truckee River Winery, Tahoma Meadows Cottages, Tahoe House, Christy Hill, Wolfdale’s, Sunnyside, Lanza’s, Mama Sake, Jake’s on the Lake, Brockway Bakery, Bridgetender, Ron Allen Personal Chef, North Shore Hawaiian Grill, Men Wielding Fire, and New York City Hot Dogs.

Beginners are welcome and ski or snowshoe rentals are available at the Tahoe Cross Country Center.

Tickets are $32 for adults (includes a free half day trail pass), $27 for juniors ages 13-17.  Children 12 and under can feast on complimentary hot dogs. Only a limited number of tickets are available, and they sell out quickly for this popular event.
