Get 'In The Mood' and Support Cancer Center
"After all these years the event has grown from a cozy crowd to attracting over 600 people," says Robert 'Fro' Frohlich, of Snowtribe Productions, a cancer patient, and co-organizer along with photographer Hank deVre for the charitable evening. "It's a fun party, a celebration of the coming of winter, and a great way to give back to the community."
The evening program showcases the talents of the biggest names in adventure photography, video, and filmmaking. Acclaimed visual artists include filmmakers Scott Gaffney, Craig Beck, Tom Day, Mike and Dave Hatchett and Brad Holmes. Nationally recognized photographers include Keoki Flagg, Niobe Burden, Court Leve and Hank deVre.
"It's seldom, if ever, you'd see this type of talent under one roof," says deVre, whose imagery is annually featured in Powder, Ski, Skiing, and Ski Journal. "Their images are today¹s forefront of snowsport photography."
A highlight of the event includes a tribute to the late Palisades Tahoe resident and legendary adventurer Shane McConkey. Evening co-hosts are Resorts Sports Network Todd Offenbacher and Tahoe TV/Tahoetopia.com's Eric T. The Resort at Squaw Creek hosts a post-event party beginning at 9pm in Sandy¹s Pub. Discount lodging is also available the night of the event.
All ages are welcome. There is no admission charge. The show begins at 6:30pm and beverages are available. A huge raffle with over 150 prizes is also part of the night¹s festivities. Grand prizes are a Palisades Tahoe USA adult season pass and Chugach Range heli-skiing at Points North in Cordova, Alaska. Other prizes include local resort day tickets, Pacific Crest Snowcat adventure, snowsport equipment, overnight lodging, gift certificates and hard and soft outdoor retail items.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the door before and throughout the event. Raffle tickets may also be purchased beforehand at the Cancer Center, Wolfdale¹s, Mamasake and all Tahoe Dave¹s locations. All proceeds benefit the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center.
Led by Medical Director Laurence Heifetz, MD, the Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, located in Truckee California, is committed to providing the highest quality cancer treatment and care to patients.
