Freeride Tour Takes On Silverado
Winners of the Nissan Tram Face, Palisades Tahoe USA leg of the Freeride World Tour have been posted following a superb event that went off in style Monday in Palisades Tahoe USA's Silverado Bowl.
After a disappointing postponement on Sunday due to safety concerns on Palisades Tahoe's Tram Face, the intended location for the event, the third leg of the Freeride World Tour was held under blue skies and with ideal conditions on the face above Silverado Bowl, just below Palisades Tahoe's High Camp. This was the second time the event had been held in this location.
45 competitors, men and women skiers and snowboarders, launched from the ridge above "Bungee Bowl" (named for its location below what was formerly a bungee jumping tower), and performed their best maneuvers for the judges in two runs.
The winners were announced and presented with prizes at a celebration on Palisades Tahoe's Olympic House sundeck shortly after the competition ended. Winners proceed to the final leg of the Freeride World Tour, scheduled for March 20th in Verbier, Switzerland.
