February Events Pack Calendar at Alpine Meadows

There is no shortage of events at Alpine Meadows on the calendar for February. For thrill-seekers who want to show off their skills, or for those who either prefer to be a spectator or who simply know how to enjoy a good party, there are plenty of fun activities to partake in the coming weeks at Alpine Meadows.

Valentine’s Day, Feb. 11
Love is in the air at Alpine. Join us for a day of love-filled celebrations on Saturday, Feb. 11. Play a game of Meet your Match for a chance to win discounted drinks. Grab a numbered sticker from a guest services team member and if you find someone with the same number bring them to the Last Chair Bar to get two drinks for just $2 each. Grab your loved one or find a new special friend at our Valentine's Day Bash featuring DJ Zeb Early. Dance-offs, drink specials and a chance to meet “the one” are just a few of the highlights of this party. As evidence of your love, we will be handing out “I Love Alpine” pins throughout the day and at the party. Depending on weather, this party will either be hosted on the Sun Deck or in the Last Chair Bar from 2 p.m.-5 p.m.

For Women. By Women. Women’s Camp, Feb. 11
For both the seasoned expert looking for a few tips or the skier/rider who has mastered the intermediate slopes and is reaching for a first black-diamond descent, Alpine’s professional and fun female coaches are ready to help cultivate better skiers or riders. Our women's programs are the perfect opportunity to meet other women who are passionate about the snow. Camps include on-mountain coaching, video analysis and après ski activities. Additional For Women. By Women. Women’s Camps are offered on the following dates: March 4 and March 19.

Alpenglow Alpine Touring and Telemark Demo Day, Feb. 11

Alpenglow Sports will again partner with Alpine Meadows to host the fifth annual Alpine Touring and Telelmark Demo Event -- one of the region’s most highly anticipated on-snow telemark ski demo days.  Those looking to test-drive the latest gear free of charge can choose from brands like Black Diamond, Atomic, K2, Garmont, Dynafit, Karhu, Crispi, and more.  The experts from Alpenglow Sports will be available to offer tips and information on selecting the best equipment for each individual. The event will take place from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Après Ski Party Featuring Headphone Union, Feb. 18

Kick off your boots after a day on the hill and dance to the beats of Headphone Union at the Alpine Bar from 2 – 5 p.m. This high-energy band is known for their powerful performances, tight songwriting and excellent musicianship. Headphone Union fuses old-school funk flavor with raucous jams and hints of classic rock.  Party-goers can also enjoy $5 Hurricane's in celebration of Mardis Gras.

Beaver Bowl Banzai, Feb. 23 and 24

The Beaver Bowl Banzai kicks off the second annual Rahlves Banzai Tour. This event combines the competitive excitement of skier and boardercross with the speed-thrill of a downhill race.  Event organizer Daron Rahlves, a former US World Cup and Olympic skier, knows a thing or two about both: with 12 World Cup gold medals, Rahlves has won more medals and achieved more podium finishes spanning the globe than any other American man in the history of ski racing and competition.  Rahlves’ vision to fuse skier/boardercross and downhill racing equals one maniacal display of speed, strength, and strategy through Alpine’s most difficult steeps and off-trail terrain; non-stop from summit to base. Thursday, Feb. 23 is time trials; a solo qualifying run ranks the top 32 men from ski/board and top 16 women from ski/board to move on to the finals on Friday, Feb. 24 to compete for a $15,000 prize purse.

Ice Bar Opening Party, Feb. 25

Recognized as an iconic Alpine hotspot to gather with friends and catch a few rays of the famous Sierra winter sunshine, the Ice Bar is a party every day during the ski season.  The grand opening is Alpine’s way of celebrating the Ice Bar, it’s inevitable snowball battles, live on-snow music, and casual inviting ambiance usually reserved for the beach.  Skiers and riders who migrate to the Ice Bar (located at the base of the Sherwood Chair) can kick back in a lounge chair with a cold beverage and barbecued bratwurst, try their luck with the hula-hoop contest, or dance to great DJ sounds emanating from the one and only snow cat sound system hybrid, the Alpine Bandwagon.   The party starts at noon and finishes when the last snowball is launched.
