Century Ride Trades Miles For Music

The Village at Palisades Tahoe welcomed over 600 participants on Saturday, September 25th in the Tahoe Sierra Century ride to raise funds to support music programs at North Tahoe High School and Middle School.

Riders left the Village early Saturday morning and completed a 30, 60, or 100 mile route along different roads around Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. Upon arrival back at the Village, they were treated to food, drink, and performances by the middle and high school bands.

In its 8th year, the Tahoe Sierra Century ride has become a critical source of funds needed to keep the popular and noted music programs alive and thriving. The last several years, the event has raised in the area of $30,000, all of which goes directly towards funding for instruments, music, equipment, travel, festival registration and special education and instruction.

The ride attracts riders of all abilities from across the country and around the world and this year's ideal weather made the ride even more rewarding.
