Celebrate Health at Women's Wellness Weekend

(Tahoe City, Calif.) — Granlibakken Lodge & Conference Center’s dedication to health and wellness will be celebrated at the annual Lake Tahoe Women’s Wellness Weekend with acclaimed authors, speakers and health care professionals, Nov. 8-9, 2014.

The theme of weekend, now in its 24th year, is to provide information and inspiration on health and well-being that is specifically designed to inspire women and connect them with the North Lake Tahoe community. The program includes a complete schedule of speakers, exercise classes, vendor booths, a health fair and food and wine.
 
A comfortable and inviting mood awaits women of all ages, body types and physical abilities to gather for two days for a fusion of Western medicine combined with alternative care, covering hot topics and important themes. Medical doctors and health professionals will present a variety of information on the psyche of women, diet and nutrition, anti-aging tips from a naturopath, brain development, bone health and much more.

Exercise classes take place throughout the weekend, include daily morning yoga, Ki Gong, Zumba and the healing effects of drumming.

The weekend closes with the favored ‘grand finale’ health fair featuring information, consultations and demonstrations from nutritionists, naturopaths, quantum biofeedback, bodytalk, chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapists and many more.

Extensive Lineup of Speakers
Opening the weekend on Saturday is Kim Bateman, Ph.D who offers a look at ideal femininity and the pressures to amputate important parts of who you are in order to fit in. The focus is on seeing yourself with the soft eyes of non-judgment, and surrounding yourself with people who can reflect your individual soulfulness.

North Tahoe local, Jill Whisler, RD brings “10 Topics in Nutrition We Weren’t Thnking About in 1999”, and Shavawn Forester, Ph.D, RD, delivers “Your Gut has a Mind of its Own.”

Presentations continue on Sunday with “Better Bone Health” and “Your Brain & You: Aging Happily Together.”
