The 2012 Rahlves Banzai Tour came to a close amidst a pummeling snow and wind storm during the final event, the Silver Belt Banzai and Super Finals held at Sugar Bowl on March 11th. Daron Rahlves, the series' producer, again took home the title of reigning Banzai Champion with a win in the Super Finals against the winners of each of this year's four events.

(Donner Summit, Calif.) - Daron Rahlves remains the reigning Banzai champion with yet another win at the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour Super Finals this last Sunday, March 11 at Sugar Bowl Resort. The Super Final followed the Silver Belt Banzai, a unique event with roots dating back to 1940, when the Silver Belt Race was considered one of the top ski races in the country. After a hiatus from the late 70's to the early 00's, Sugar Bowl’s Ski Ambassador Daron Rahlves revived the race in 2009 with a new twist, combining downhill racing with big mountain freeriding and ski & boarder-cross action. This year's tour saw 4 stops at resorts around Lake Tahoe.

"I'd like to thank all the competitors, sponsors and host resorts for a wild, fun and successful 4 stop tour. Silver Belt Banzai Men's ski winner Riva filled the last spot in the "Super Final" and gave me a good run for the $10,000!" Said Rahlves.

A festive finish line vendor village and BBQ provided the winning scene for the awards ceremony. The top Silver Belt skiers each received the coveted Silver Belt Buckle, with the Snowboard winners taking home custom skateboards in addition to impressive cash prizes. Overall Tour Winners received custom forged Banzai trophies along with their cash earnings.
