Annual Concours d'Elegance to Showcase Classic Boats on Father's Day Weekend.

The 38th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance,  set for June 18-20 at the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay on Lake Tahoe's North Shore, will provide an ideal Father's Day experience.

"The Concours offers something for everyone," comments Dave Olson, chairman of the Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance, and president of the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, the event's host organization.  "The entire family will enjoy witnessing firsthand the beauty and history of these special craft.  Many boat owners will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions about these spectacular works of art."

Spectators will enjoy a dockside view of more than 80 beautifully and meticulously restored antique and classic wood boats.  The event also features live music, vendor booths, raffles, and a variety of delicious food and beverage, with wooden boat rides added for Friday's VIP Preview Day on June 18.

In addition to the dozens of classic "woodies," this year's Marque or "featured" class will be "Classic Glass" showcasing a spectacular collection of fiberglass-built boats from before 1964. The Marque class will consist of two subclasses: "Transitional Fiberglass," to include boats manufactured with wood hulls and fiberglass accessories, and "Full Fiberglass," boats manufactured primarily out of fiberglass.  In total, boat entries will compete for trophies in more than 15 show categories.

Show hours are Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  A VIP Preview Day will be held Friday, June 18, from 12-4 p.m. and includes a catered lunch, complimentary libations and wood boat rides.

Event details and tickets are available at www.laketahoeconcours.com, or by calling the show office at 1-530-581-4700.
