Alpine Meadows to Open for the Season Dec. 5
Alpine Meadows will open for the season on Saturday, Dec. 5th with two chairlifts in operation accessing beginner through advanced terrain. The newly launched 'Unfiltered' video report provides a look at opening day terrain and conditions.
“The Alpine Meadows snowmaking team has taken advantage of the cold temperatures throughout the past month to prepare for opening day,” said Kent Hoopingarner, Alpine Meadows general manager. “The cold weather has also helped the mountain retain the recent natural snowfall."
Skiers will immediately notice the addition of new electronic chairlift access gates at the base of each lift. The radio-frequency triggered gates allow passholders and day ticket holders to leave their tickets in their pockets and slide right through to load the lift, reducing hassle and waiting time. The electronic tickets also introduce a variety of benefits, including membership club discounts and online ticket purchasing and reloading.
Dining, rental equipment, and other resort services will include the Meadows Café & Coffee Bar; the Compactor Bar; Estelle Sports retail shop; season pass office; snow sports school and Kids’ Camp; and the ski/snowboard rental shop - all located in the base lodge. The opening day full-day adult and teen lift ticket price will be $44; and tickets for children ages five through 12 will be $15. Children of ages four and under ski or ride free.
