Despite cold, windy, wet and snowy weather, and a pond that was covered with ice just days before, Palisades Tahoe's 20th Lake Cushing Crossing on May 9th was as big a spectacle as ever. Over 60 competitors braved the cold air (and water) in as little as an athletic supporter to the cheers and jeers of several hundred onlookers.

This year's event included two new add-on categories, including 'most creative' costume or vessel, and the 'skinny ski' category, in a nod to the 'old school' skis used in the early days of the event.
