Ponderosa Golf Course was originally developed by the townspeople of Truckee in 1961.  It was owned and operated by the P.U.D. until 1968 when it was sold to Reynold C. Johnson. It remained a family business until 2008 when it was purchased by the Airport District with the understanding that the property would be used for recreational purposes and remain untouched by residential or commercial development.   Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District maintains and manages the course under a lease agreement with the Airport District.

THE COURSE
The course features 3,022 yards of golf from the longest  tees for a par of 35.  This short course has 3 sets of tee boxes for a fun but challenging golfing experience.  The course features chipping and practice greens, driving nets, pro shop, snack bar and a fabulous view.
