This highly-acclaimed and popular and free outdoor concert series at the Village at Squaw Valley features dynamic performances by a host of nationally and internationally known blues musicians, great grab-and-go food offerings from Village restaurants and a "Blues Bar" with beer, wine & spirits available in the Events Plaza. During the summer Bluesdays series get discounted Aerial Tram and activity packages, food and drink specials, and lodging sales every Tuesday.

In addition to Tahoe City’s distinctive charms – including convenient lake access, acclaimed artists, fabulous restaurants and notable shops and galleries you can celebrate summer at the Thursday Farmers Market, Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show on Friday, Saturday Tahoe City Wine Walk and Sunday’s Concert at Commons Beach are annual Solstice Festival highlights.

The Tahoe City Solstice Festival, June 15-18, may be the best place to celebrate Father’s Day at the lake. Many people take the opportunity to shop and wrap up the day with dinner in Tahoe City. It’s going to be a great Solstice Weekend in Tahoe City!

The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event. Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up over 500 volunteers. Over 140,000 fans will be in attendance for the 4th richest PRCA tour rodeo. The event impacts the Reno/Sparks area economy with $42 million going to hotels, casinos, restaurants and retail. The Reno Rodeo has been nationally televised on CBS Sports, Fox Sports Net, Versus, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic.

The Broken Arrow Skyrace is an iconic race that encompasses more than just running. It is a true test of how fast you can move through the mountains. Participants will start in Squaw Valley and race up mountain trails, scramble across ridgelines and up gullies, and speed through Tahoe’s forests. 

Details 
  • The race will start in Squaw Valley and romp through the mountainous terrain surrounding the area
  • Participants can register for one of 3 distances
  • Race course details coming soon
The Broken Arrow Skyrace will have 3 distances:
  • A “VK” or vertical kilometer distance that is 3-3.5 miles and gains approximately 3,200' elevation. This race ends at the top of a mountain. This race is part of the Altra US Skyrunner Series.
  • A 32.23 mile distance with over 11,000' elevation gain. This race follows a loop course and will start and finish in Squaw Valley. This race is part of the Altra US Skyrunner Series.
  • A 16.4 mile distance with over 6,000' elevation gain. This race follows a loop course and will start and finish in Squaw Valley. This race is NOT part of the Altra US Skyrunner Series.
